Today (September 8) is going to be a very important day for the Indian cricket team. A 15-member Indian team is to be selected for the ICC T20 World Cup to be held next month from October 17 to November 14, hosted by the BCCI. Chief selector Chetan Sharma will hold a meeting with the rest of the members to decide the team at night.
Information about team selection will be given in the virtual press conference to be organized by BCCI on Wednesday 8th September at 9 pm. A total of 15-member team is to be selected including senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah. The ICC has fixed September 10 as the last date for team selection. A week before the start of the tournament, the last change in the team will be made till October 10.

Captain Virat Kohli had made it a long time ago that he would be seen opening the innings with Rohit Sharma. In such a situation, KL Rahul will be India’s second opener, he also does wicketkeeping. The selection of experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan seems to be a difficult road. Suryakumar Yadav, who has shown a great game in the middle order in the last few days, is confirmed. Along with Hardik Pandya, the selection of Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur is also believed to be fixed in the team as all-rounders.
