Rajasthan Royals head coach Andrew McDonald has said that the franchise is ‘not sure’ about the availability of all-rounder Ben Stokes in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Stokes, who was the hero of England’s World Cup title win last year, is going through a tough phase. After his father was diagnosed with brain cancer, he withdrew from the team in August before the second Test of the series against Pakistan. (ipl 2020 full schedule)

RR Condolence with family of Stokes
Macdonald told ESPNcricinfo, ‘First and foremost, our condolences are with the family of Ben Stokes.’ This is a difficult situation, so we are giving them as much time as they need. ‘ He said, ‘What is the status of Stokes right now, we do not know, but once things are clear then we will be able to make a decision. We can’t predict what will happen to them right now.’
Head coach did not seem too worried when asked about team captain Steve Smith not playing in the first two matches of the Australia-England ODI series. Smith suffered a head injury before the ODI series against England. Andrew McDonald said, ‘I think Smith’s thinking is clear. They need some time. After the concussion (head injury), there was very little time between the first and second ODI, so it should have been done with caution. It is expected that he will be seen on the field on Wednesday (third ODI).

David Miller have superb finishing skills
McDonald, who was appointed the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals last year, is expecting better results in his first IPL from the team due to the young players. He said, ‘We have strengthened our left-handed batting. Especially as domestic players like (Anuj) Rawat and (Yashswi) Jaiswal, we have got some good options. Veteran David Miller possesses superb finishing skills.’ At the beginning of the IPL, now there are only 3 days left. On September 19, the first match of IPL 13 will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
